Full-frontal facial portraits, possibly with a bit of cheeky collar, are one of my favourite things to draw (and also one of the most artless things to draw, apparently). In the interest of providing an overview of progress over the last seven-plus years, I'll put some salient examples next to each other - or under each other, rather - to kick off.
| 2004 - either a character from Post-Apocalyptic Desert Comic or Tiger Lily from a Peter Pan adaptation, I can't now recall. |
| 2007 - Ifan Cadfael from Arcadia, and his eyes which are the eyes of a five year old heifer. |
| 2011 - Augustus Wormwood from Balme & Wormwood, and his tiny ears. |
The only conclusions I can draw regarding how m' artistic bread and butter has developed over a decade-ish are that things are a) a bit less lopsided, b) a bit more colourful, c) mostly consisting of scary old men. I seem to still be planning many many comics, though, I expect I'll never learn.
